Deschanel gave an interview about her band, She & Him, which is planning to release a second album in the near future.

When asked if her fiancee, Ben, will make a cameo, she responds: "That's none of your beeswax. Time will tell."

I hope that means yes.

In tribute to 2008, (Happy New Year, by the way), MTV posted a 'Best Songs of 2008' List up on their site back in Dec.

Death Cab for Cutie's "Grapevine Fires" came in at #15. Says the article, "'Fires' shines a candle on Ben Gibbard's achingly pretty vocals and narrative skill."

Ben Gibbard is engaged, ladies and gentlemen, to none other than Zooey Deschanel!

You may know her as Kit from Failure to Launch, or more recently, Renee in Yes Man. Deschanel is also the female half of the band She & Him.

RS interviewed Ben back on the 11th for the 10th anniversary of Deathcab For Cutie's first album, Something About Airplanes. In it, Ben talks about Deathcab, the Postal Service's future, and his support for Barack Obama's victory: "Oh man, I’m over the moon with it...just overwhelmed with the significance of it all. It was incredibly cathartic."

When asked about following up on Postal Service, Ben responds, "No update. It’s the record that never seems to want to come out."

Ben is going to be on a double-disc album, due February 17 with many other artists. The album's proceeds are going to benefit AIDS research.

Ben appears on one song, "Train Song," with Feist on disc one.
